ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) is working with patients, physicians, midwives, nurses, hospitals, stakeholders, and community groups to develop a Birth Equity Initiative focused on actionable strategies to address disparities in birth outcomes for Black women and women of color in Illinois. The goal of the initiative is to help Illinois birthing hospitals work together to reduce maternal disparities and promote birth equity by ensuring all women receive respectful care.

ILPQC has partnered with Diversity Science to provide exclusive online access to their interactive training course and resources for perinatal providers focused on implicit bias and reproductive justice.

These resources were developed by Diversity Science and project director, Rachel Hardeman, PhD, MPH.

Access to this course is available to all ILPQC hospital teams participating in the Birth Equity (BE) Initiative. ILPQC BE hospitals will also have access to the resources and support to add the course to their hospital learning systems. This is one component of the Implicit Bias and Respectful Care Training Resources. To access additional education resources please click here for more information.
